What we see in Tijeras
- Potholes where water reached the base and froze.
- Heaves and dips that come and go with the seasons.
- Broken edges undercut by runoff.
- Cracks at culvert crossings where fill has settled.
- Spiderweb cracking where the base has failed.
How a repair should be done
- Saw-cut square around the damage to solid pavement
- Dig out wet or failed base
- Fix the water source if there is one
- Rebuild and compact new base
- Tack the edges and fill with hot-mix, compacted flush
- Seal the joints

Patch or replace?
If the damage is scattered, patching makes sense. If it covers much of the drive, rebuild the worst areas and overlay the rest. We'll show you both prices.
